Andrea Ratto

Andrea Ratto has extensive work experience in software engineering and development, with a focus on backend development and team leadership.

- Starting in 2021, Andrea worked as a Senior Software Engineer and backend team lead at Topcon Mirage Technologies, where they evolved cloud-native APIs, integrated AWS services, and addressed technical debt.

- From 2015, Andrea worked at Tierra S.p.A. as a Software Engineer and tech lead, contributing to the development of fleet management and 3D GIS applications. They played a key role in implementing paradigm shifts such as transitioning from monolithic to microservices architectures and from manual infrastructure management to serverless cloud solutions. Their technology stack included Java, Typescript, Python, Node, and AWS Lambda, among others.

- Between 2011 and 2014, Andrea worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at Reply, mainly focused on in-house software projects for Storm Reply, an Amazon Web Services partner company.

- In 2013, Andrea joined Subito.it (Schibsted Media Group) as a Software Engineer, where they were part of an agile team developing a ReST API to replace the business logic layer. They also contributed to designing a core part of the domain model, simplifying implementation of business rules and enhancing code readability.

- Andrea worked as a Consultant at Telecom Italia in 2012, responsible for server-side architecture and development of a prototype messaging application targeting mobile users.

- Earlier in their career, Andrea gained experience as a Web Developer during an internship at Redomino S.r.l. and using freelance positions. They also worked as a System Administrator, deploying Linux-based servers in a small network setup, and as a Security Consultant intern at Blue Reply, an IBM partner company of Reply S.p.a.

Andrea Ratto holds a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Information Systems and Methodologies from Università degli Studi di Torino, which they obtained from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Sciences and Technologies for the Information Society, also at Università degli Studi di Torino, from 2005 to 2007.

In 2003 and 2004, Andrea pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Università degli Studi di Torino.

Furthermore, Andrea has obtained additional certifications to enhance their skillset. Andrea has achieved the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2020. In June 2013, they earned certifications as a Google App Engine Qualified Developer and a Google Cloud Storage Qualified Developer from Google.
