John Phillips has extensive experience in both the education and beverage sales industries. Since September 2015, John has served as a Special Education Bus Driver for Tigard-Tualatin School District. Concurrently, John has held a similar role with Portland Public School District #1 since November 2010. Prior to these positions, John worked as Market Manager at High Falls Brewing from April 2005 to April 2009, where responsibilities included sales and marketing for various beer and wine brands in the Oregon and Washington markets. From January 1999 to September 2004, John was a Key Account Manager for Labatt USA, overseeing sales and marketing for several well-known beer brands across multiple states. Additionally, John was the Owner of JP Sales and Marketing from May 1993 to December 1998, focusing on establishing sales and marketing programs for health and beauty care products at the retail level in the Pacific Northwest. John Phillips pursued general studies at Southern Oregon University from 1969 to 1971 and graduated from Prospect High School in 1967.
Tigard-Tualatin School District
Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) serves part of the suburban Portland metropolitan area including the cities of Tigard, Tualatin, Durham, and King City, as well as the unincorporated communities of Metzger and Bull Mountain. TTSD provides programming from Pre-school to 12th grade with an emphasis on student achievement, equity, talent, and climate and culture. All K-12 students experience personalized digital learning with a focus on critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, as well as opportunities to experience, college, career, and technical classes, preparing them for success after high school. TTSD hires and retains staff who are catalysts for learning and who nurture a school community where everyone feels safe, valued, and connected.
