Ratan Tipirneni

Ratan Tipirneni is the current President & CEO at Tigera, and has previously served as SVP & GM - Cloud Business at Actifio, and GM – Software BU (SaaS) at Cisco.

At Actifio, Ratan defined strategy for the Enterprise Hybrid Cloud business (DaaS : Data-as-a-Service) and drove execution with the leaders in Public Cloud. Ratan established partnerships with all the leading Public Cloud players including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Oracle Cloud. Led GTM, launched new solutions and incubated the new business.

At Cisco, Ratan incubated a new SaaS business and grew it from 0 to $200 M in 6 years. Ratan droved an additional $250 M in Product upsell opportunities identified by this service. Led GTM, Product Management and Product Marketing efforts for packaging, pricing, positioning and global launch of two SaaS offers. Built a deployment team to drive successful customer on-boarding. Built a global Customer Success team to drive adoption, Value Realization & renewals. Built a sales team & leveraged a value based sales approach and sold offer to 1,500 customers . Sold offer to 120 partners globally, enabled them, helped them build Managed Services and sold offer to another 1,600 customers through the channel. Designed a new business strategy to build a Cloud Application Platform for Hybrid Cloud (iPaaS, aPaaS, MBaaS).

Ratan Tipirneni has a background in electrical engineering from Osmania University, followed by a computer science degree from Louisiana State University. Ratan also has an MBA in marketing from Santa Clara University. In addition, they have completed executive education in leadership from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
