Justin Laabs has a diverse work experience in the food industry. Justin started their career as a Research Chef at ConAgra Foods in 2005 and worked there until 2007. Justin then joined The Food Processing Center - UNL as a Student Product Development Scientist from 2008 to 2009. Justin continued their work at the same company as a Food Scientist from 2010 to 2011.

In 2011, Justin joined Supplement Sciences / Church & Dwight as a Food Scientist and later became the Lead Food Scientist from 2012 to 2014.

Justin then moved on to Chaucer in 2014, where they served as the USA Technical Manager in R&D until 2017.

Justin's most recent position was at Tillamook County Creamery Association, where they held the roles of R&D Manager from 2017 to 2020 and Senior Manager of Product Development starting from October 2020. In this role, they led various impactful initiatives including developing financial tools, expanding the ice cream business, driving cost reduction strategies, and introducing clean label, cage free egg, non-BE versions of product portfolios. Justin also grew the team, established a record number of skus developed, and navigated the challenges of a global pandemic.

Justin Laabs obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Science, Culinary Arts, and Management from Metropolitan Community College, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Justin then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Education and Human Science: Culinology® from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Justin has obtained several certifications. These include completing the Bartender & Barista Training Course through the International Open Academy in August 2020, becoming a Certified Barbecue Judge through the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association in June 2018, and becoming a Certified HACCP Manager through Prometric in February 2017.

Justin has also completed various online courses and specializations to enhance their knowledge and skills. These include certifications in Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma methodologies, change management, dairy production and management, food and health from Stanford University, nutrition, and more. Justin completed these courses through platforms such as Coursera and institutions like the Management & Strategy Institute and Tillamook Bay Community College.

Overall, Justin has a diverse education background, with a focus on culinary arts, education, and various certifications in related fields.
