Ian Cadby

Ian Cadby (Chartered FCSI) has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ian currently holds the position of Non Executive Chairman at abrdn Investment Trusts since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Non Executive Director at the same company from May 2016 to December 2021.

In 2017, Cadby joined CQS as a Non Executive Director and Chair of the Nominations Committee, a role they continue to hold.

In 2014, they co-founded Tiller Group, a parent company for Tiller Technologies Ltd. The company aims to be a leader in digital wealth and asset management technology, utilizing the expertise of professionals in investment management, digital marketing, risk management, and financial algorithm development.

Additionally, Cadby co-founded Tiller Technologies Limited in 2019, which offers award-winning wealth management solutions to UK and European wealth managers and private banks.

Ian has also served as a Non Executive Director at TAM Asset Management Ltd from June 2015 to July 2018. Prior to that, Cadby was the Founder & CEO of Ermitage Partners Limited from December 2012 to July 2014.

Cadby's earlier career includes roles at Ermitage Global Wealth Management Jersey Limited, where they served as Managing Director from May 2011 to December 2013 and as Director from January 2004 to July 2011. Ian was also a Founding Shareholder & Group Chief Executive Officer at Ermitage Group from May 2004 to December 2013, leading the management buy-out of the Liberty Ermitage Group backed by Caledonia Investments Limited.

Before this, Cadby was Group CEO & Chief Investment Officer at Liberty Ermitage Group Limited from January 2001 to May 2004, where they led the management buy-out of the group and renamed it Ermitage Group.

Their career began at CadbyWauton Asia, where they served as a Founding Partner & Head of Trading from 1999 to 2001.

Ian Cadby (Chartered FCSI) completed the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School in 2008, focusing on Business/Finance. Ian also obtained the Level 7 Securities & Investment Diploma from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI). Additionally, they achieved the Level 7 Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD), specializing in Business Strategy, Governance, Finance, and Leadership. Furthermore, Ian holds a BSc in Combined Science Degree (Economics, Maths, Statistics & Computer Science) from Coventry University. Ian also participated in the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
