Marc Witney has over 13 years of work experience in the hospitality industry. In 2007, they began their career as a Server/Bartender/Shift Leader at Earls Kitchen + Bar. Marc then moved on to Hollyburn Country Club as General Manager of Restaurants in 2012. In 2013, they became General Manager of Outlets at The Fairmont Waterfront, where they directed and implemented a 1 million dollar renovation, collaborated with marketing and executive committee for a complete rebrand of both space and concept, and designed and built multiple excel workbooks that streamlined data gathering. In 2015, they became General Manager at The Harbord Group, where they maintained a 5.0 social media rating across 4 review sites, analyzed feedback, created internal communication channels, and built an Excel workbook to automatically gather sales data from POS system. In 2016, they took on a role as Co-Founder at Bellwoods Suites, where they were the point of contact for guests, helped customize their experience within the city, and developed an online portal for guests to enhance their experience. Marc also took on a role as a Full Stack Engineer in freelance, where they architected and built multiple greenfield projects. Finally, in 2018, they became Head of Product at tilr, working with a highly driven team to create products that empower recruiters and leaders to measure and manage skills to build more resilient workplaces.
Marc Witney has a diverse educational background. Marc began their studies in 2001, when they earned a Diploma in Airport Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Marc then attended Langara College, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business in 2007. Marc concurrently attended Mount Royal University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in the same year. Finally, in 2009, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Calgary.
