James Howard has a diverse background in machine learning and research, starting from being a Special Agent at the FBI in 2005 to their recent role as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Laurel in 2022. In between, they have worked at various prestigious organizations like Facebook and Land O'Lakes, Inc., contributing as a Machine Learning Engineer and Research and Development professional. James also served as a Teaching Assistant Professor at the University of St. Thomas.
James Howard obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2005. James then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at Colorado School of Mines from 2008 to 2013. In 2011 to 2012, they obtained an Executive MBA certificate in Business Administration and Management from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. James also holds certifications such as SCRUM Master, SCRUM Product Owner, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Additionally, they were a conference speaker at the 2019 AutoSense conference.
