Eshvaren Shanthan Sanmugam

Eshvaren Shanthan Sanmugam has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and compliance. Eshvaren has held various leadership positions in notable companies and organizations.

Starting in 2005, Eshvaren worked as an Audit Associate at KPMG Malaysia, specializing in assurance services for logistics, oil/gas, and manufacturing companies. Eshvaren collaborated with teams to provide assurance services, audit accounts, and evaluate internal control environments.

In 2006, Eshvaren joined Crowe Horwath Malaysia as a Senior Internal Auditor. Eshvaren continued to contribute to auditing and risk management for clients.

From 2010 to 2016, Eshvaren served as the Head of Unit, Internal Audit at UMW Corporation Sendirian Berhad. Eshvaren managed internal audit operations and ensured compliance.

In 2016, Eshvaren took on the role of Head of Internal Audit (Acting) - Senior Manager at Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat. Here, they led the Internal Audit Division, assessed governance and risk management, implemented audits, and provided internal control consultancy.

Starting in 2019, Eshvaren worked as the Head of Unit, Internal Audit Division at EPF Malaysia. Eshvaren successfully contributed to internal audit functions until November 2021.

Most recently, in November 2021, Eshvaren assumed the position of Head of Operation Audit and Compliance at TIME dotCom Berhad.

Throughout their career, Eshvaren has also been actively involved with the IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors, performing as a voluntary speaker in 2013 and 2014.

Eshvaren Shanthan Sanmugam completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management at Victoria University in 2015. In 2018, they obtained a Certified Fraud Examiner certification from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. In 2013, they received a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from the Institute of Internal Auditor, Malaysia (IIAM). Additionally, in 2012, they achieved the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Prior to that, from 2010 to 2011, they earned a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification, specializing in Internal Audit, from Sunway College. Their undergraduate degree is an Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) from SEGi University & Colleges, which they obtained from 2002 to 2005. In 2001, they completed a Systematic Diploma In Business with a major in Information Technology from SEGi University & Colleges, focusing on Information Technology, Accountancy & Business Studies. In terms of additional certifications, Eshvaren Shanthan Sanmugam has received training in Basic First Aid from Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah and holds qualifications in Basic March-past and Helicopter Underwater Escape through courses from Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah and MSTS Asia Sdn Bhd, respectively.
