Shareese Kess has extensive work experience in various roles within the social work field. Shareese began their career in 1997 as a Family Preservation Case Worker at the Baltimore City Department of Social Services. Shareese provided case management and support to families at risk of having their children placed into foster care. From 1998 to 2004, they worked as a Senior Treatment Coordinator at Pressley Ridge, where they provided case management for children in foster care and supported foster families. In 2004, they joined the Howard County Department of Social Services as a Child and Adult Protective Services Social Worker, where they investigated and took action to address allegations of abuse and neglect. In 2011, they joined The Coordinating Center as a Clinical Care Coordinator, providing coordination and support for individuals with rare and expensive medical conditions. Shareese later became a Team Manager, overseeing a team of Clinical Care Coordinators. In 2014, they joined the National Pike Health Center as a Clinical Therapist and Diagnostician, providing therapy and assessments for clients with mental health diagnoses. In 2017, they moved to LifeBridge Health, where they worked as a Complex Care Clinical Social Worker. In 2019, they joined Anne Arundel Medical Center as a Social Work Community Care Manager. Most recently, in 2022, they joined TIME Organization, Inc as the Director of Community Based Program Development and Engagement.

Shareese Kess completed their education as follows: From 1994 to 1997, they attended Coppin State University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Following this, they pursued further studies at the University of Maryland Baltimore from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a Master's degree in Social Work.
