Kalmara Zigiria has worked in various positions within the software engineering field. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Software Developer at Brovis Wireless Networks. Following this, they joined Riverstone Infotech in 2013 and later transitioned to Timesys Corporation as a Linux Engineer, where they worked until 2017. At Timesys Corporation, they first worked as an Embedded Software Engineer starting in 2017 and then took on the role of BSP Lead Engineer in May 2019.

Kalmara Zigiria obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, completing the program from 2004 to 2008. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2010, they pursued a Master's degree in Embedded Systems at S R M University.
