Brian Welch, P.E. has a diverse work experience in the field of transportation engineering. Brian began their career as a Transportation Intern at the Virginia Department of Transportation from June 2011 to May 2012. During this time, they were responsible for planning and executing preliminary designs, performing value engineering estimates, and reviewing plan layouts.

Brian is also a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with certifications from both the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation and the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. Currently, Brian is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at North Carolina State University, which they are expected to complete in 2024.
