Senior Project Engineer at Timmons Group

Drew Sullivan has a diverse work experience in the transportation engineering field. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, where they contributed to various projects within the Lighting Infrastructure Technology Group. In 2011, they joined Burgess & Niple as a Designer/Jr. Engineer for a brief period before transitioning to McCormick Taylor, Inc. as a Transportation Designer. In this role, they were involved in road design, hydraulic design, and stormwater management design for transportation/roadway projects. Drew also gained experience in layout and design for sound wall barriers along highways, as well as grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control design, and stormwater management design. Since 2018, Drew has been working at Timmons Group, initially as a Project Engineer III and currently as a Senior Project Engineer. Their expertise lies in road, hydraulic, stormwater management, and ESC design for transportation/roadway projects. Drew has experience in designing various types of projects, including road widening, roundabouts, road realignments, intersection improvements, new roads, streetscapes, and sidewalks/shared use paths. Drew is also highly skilled in construction estimating for transportation projects in Virginia.

Drew Sullivan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech, graduating in 2010. In addition to their degree, Drew has obtained several certifications including Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer from the Commonwealth of Virginia State Water Control Board (obtained in June 2015), Trnsport PES from the Virginia Department of Transportation (obtained in February 2013), Guardrail Installation, Replacement, and Repair from the Virginia Department of Transportation (obtained in November 2011), Professional Engineer from the Virginia DPOR (obtained in May 2016), and Advanced Work Zone Traffic Control from the Virginia Department of Transportation (obtained in February 2018).
