Simone S. has diverse work experience in various engineering and research roles. They started their career in 2015 as an Environmental Department Intern at Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G). In 2017, they worked as an Engineering Technician II at the Virginia Department of Transportation and simultaneously served as a Natural Gas Development Policy Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2018, Simone interned as a Coal Combustion Products (CCP) Engineering Intern (Water Management) at Duke Energy Corporation. In 2019, they worked as a Fluid Mechanics Tutor at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2020, Simone served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Environmental Microbiology for Engineers at Carnegie Mellon University. They currently hold the position of Project Engineer III at Timmons Group, starting in 2021.

Simone S. pursued their education at Carnegie Mellon University starting in 2016. Simone completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, with an additional major in Engineering in Public Policy, in 2020. After obtaining their undergraduate degree, they continued their studies at Carnegie Mellon University in 2020, specializing in Environmental Engineering. Simone earned their Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in the same year.
