Stephen Magnuson

Stephen Magnuson has a diverse work experience spanning from 2016 to 2023. Stephen began their career as a Building Manager at Student Engagement and Campus Life at Virginia Tech, where they managed a building from April 2016 to May 2017. Stephen then transitioned to a role as a Historic Preservation Intern at the Student Conservation Association - Moses Cone National Historic Site, where they supported the maintenance and preservation of historically significant structures and landscapes using traditional and modern tools.

In 2018, Stephen joined AmeriCorps NCCC as a Field Team Leader, overseeing a team and coordinating various conservation and community service projects. Following this, they worked as a Field Technician/Staff Geologist at Draper Aden Associates from January 2019 to April 2022, gaining valuable experience in geological fieldwork.

From April 2022 to June 2023, Stephen was employed as a Laboratory Technician at TRC Companies, Inc. Here, they performed analytical laboratory tests and managed the check-in and testing of soil and construction material samples.

Stephen's most recent role is as a Project Engineer I at Timmons Group, starting in June 2023.

Stephen Magnuson received their high school education from 2008 to 2012 at the Math and Science Center at Clover Hill High School. Stephen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics and Seismology from Virginia Tech between 2012 and 2017.
