Laura House

Laura House has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Currently, they are a core member of The Stone Soup Group, where they are leading a team of volunteers to create affordable and creative childcare options in Walthamstow. Prior to this, they worked at Tiney as an Education Lead, responsible for designing and delivering training programs for Early Years educators and fostering supportive communities. Laura also held roles at The RSA as the Head of Fellowship Areas and Engagement and the Deputy Head of UK Areas. Laura has experience in leadership development and program management from their time at Teach First, where they served as a Senior Leadership Development Officer. Additionally, Laura worked as an Educational Leadership Consultant at Enseña por Colombia and as a Modern Foreign Languages Lead and Key Stage 2 class teacher at Saint Mary Magdalene Academy.

Laura House has a diverse education history. From 2009 to 2011, they attended IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, where they pursued a Master's degree in Education and Leadership with a focus on Bilingual, Multilingual, and Multicultural Education. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2008, earning a degree in MML (Modern and Medieval Languages). Their field of study during this time was Languages, specifically Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Laura also spent a brief period in 2007 studying South American Literature at Universidad de Sevilla and Cuban Art and Latin American Literature at the University of Havana.
