Mike Fehlauer Hayes has a long and varied work experience in the gaming industry. Mike began their career in 1996 as Senior Editor for ePlay Magazine, where they created and managed a review team, wrote strategy guides and articles, edited content, managed an E3 booth, and covered press events. In 1999, they joined Amazon.com as a Computer & Videogames Content Manager, where they launched the Video Game store, identified a need for technology to handle extreme demand and limited inventory, and advised the business team on video game industry products, trends, and opportunities. In 2004, they became Vice President at Penny Arcade, where they drove revenue and new business ventures, launched products, developed intellectual property, managed people and policy, and engaged vendors. In 2018, they joined Child's Play as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and hired a full-time staff. In 2019, they became COO of Monocle Society, where they oversaw operations, designed and implemented business operations, established policies, and secured new relationships for PR, manufacturing, licensing, and sales. Finally, in 2020, they joined TinkerHouse Games as Director of Business Development, where they established distribution, retail sales, and license partnerships, and managed and wrote content for two successful Kickstarter campaigns.
Mike Fehlauer Hayes attended Guilford College from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
