Atul Luykx

Dr. Atul Luykx is a Technical Advisor at Tioga Capital Partners. Atul was previously the Head of Cryptography at Swirlds Inc from June 2019 to June 2020. Prior to that, they were a Staff Research Scientist at Visa from October 2017 to June 2019, where they researched security and cryptography. From August 2016 to October 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis, researching cryptography with Phil Rogaway in the computer science department. From June 2016 to October 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher in the COSIC research group at KU Leuven, headed by Bart Preneel. From October 2012 to June 2016, they were a Doctoral Candidate at KU Leuven, where they performed research in symmetric-key cryptography and learned how to communicate the significance of their research. Atul has published over 7 articles in internationally competitive venues, given more than 10 presentations, and taught various courses. Atul has also received awards for their research, including the greatest distinction with congratulations from the examination committee (top 5%). In addition to their academic work, Dr. Luykx has also been involved in community service, chairing two sessions at the October 2015 ISO/IEC JTC 001/SC 27/WG 02 meeting and reviewing over 15 papers for various journals and conferences.
