James Irion has over 26 years of experience in the field. James began their career as an Attorney at the Irion Law Firm in 1994, where they practiced Immigration and Naturalization Law in the Mid-South area. James then moved to Solectron Global Services in 2000, where they served as a Quality Assurance Specialist, supervising 9 Quality Assurance team members and ensuring that computer repairs met or exceeded ISO standards. In 2004, they began working at Computer Services, Inc. as a Senior Risk & Compliance Consultant, providing professional consulting services to banks and credit unions. James also authored 37 policies and procedures for clients, creating an additional revenue stream for the business. That same year, they began working at HEIT as a Senior IT Auditor, leading IT audits to verify compliance with SOX, Section 404. In 2016, they joined Smith & Nephew as an Information Security Manager, managing global information security operations for 15,000 users located in over 100 countries. James was also an active member of the corporation's Architecture Review Board (ARB), Change Advisor Board (CAB), and Vendor Management Review Board. In 2019, they began working at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as an Information Security Vendor Risk Assessment. Currently, they are the Chief Compliance Officer at TIP Solutions, Inc.
James Irion has a JD from John Marshall Law School and a BA from The University of Memphis. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Associate Business Continuity Professiona (ABCP) from DRI International (Disaster Recovery Institute) in 2015, Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA in 2011, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2009, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) from ISACA in 2009, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) from ITIL Certified in 2009, Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in 2006, CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional from International Information System Security Certification Consortium in 2005, and Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD) from State Bar of Georgia in 1990.
