Jon Roberts

Managing Partner at TIP Strategies

Jon Roberts is the managing partner at TIP Strategies, a position they have held since December 1995. Prior to that, they served as the business development director for the State of Texas from January 1994 to December 1995. In that role, they managed the business development division for the State of Texas, with responsibility for business recruitment and expansion, as well as trade and research.

Before their work in Texas, Jon was a member of the International Economic Development Council from January 1990 to December 2009. Jon also served as managing director at AE Advisors in Austin, TX from January 1995 to December 2000. In addition, Jon was the business development director at Washington Trade and Economic Development from January 1990 to December 1994.

In 1987, Jon founded Fat Tire Farm, Portland's premier mountain bike shop. Jon remained part-owner of the shop until 1994 when they left to become VP at ORTDC from January 1986 to December 1988.

Jon Roberts has a BA and MA in Political Philosophy from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jon did post-grad studies in Political Philosophy at the University of Oregon and the Univesity of Maryland, Munich.
