Charanjit S. Jutla

Summary: Received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur, and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. Since then he has been a cryptographer at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. Among his many contributions to Cryptography and Coding Theory, his invention of authenticated encryption mode IAPM is the most acclaimed. He is also one of the principal designers of block cipher MARS - an AES finalist, and the hash function Fugue -which is in round II of the NIST Hash competition. Dr. Jutla is also member of various program committees of international conferences on Cryptography. Apart from Cryptography, his research interests include Learning Theory, Automated Theorem Proving and Artificial Intelligence.
