Erik van Essen

Erik van Essen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Erik currently holds the position of Head of Product at Tiqets, a role they have held since May 2018. Prior to this, they worked as the CTO/Product Owner at EmbraceSBS from April 2017 to May 2018.

Erik's previous experience includes a long tenure at NGT International, where they served as the COO/Director of Software Development from November 2012 to March 2017. While at NGTI, they played a crucial role in the development of Swisscom iO, a mobile communication service.

Before joining NGT International, Erik worked at Nimbuzz in various roles. Erik was a Project Director from March 2012 to October 2012. Prior to this, they served as a Functional Architect, responsible for the functional architecture and specifications of Nimbuzz's products from August 2009 to March 2012.

Erik's career began at TNO Information and Communication Technology, where they held the position of Consultant. Erik worked on projects related to mobile devices, multimedia content distribution, and mobile service development.

Finally, Erik started their professional journey at KPN Research as an Innovator/Consultant from March 1998 to December 2002.

From 1991 to 1997, Erik van Essen attended the University of Groningen, where they pursued a MSc degree in Applied Physics.
