Bill McCarthy

Bill McCarthy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in quality management and regulatory compliance within the medical devices and pharmaceuticals sectors. As the Director of Bill McCarthy Consulting since December 2016, McCarthy has served as a Notified Body Auditor for Intertek, specializing in ISO 13485:2016, ISO 9001:2000, and device sterilization methodologies. With a robust background as a Quality Manager and Quality Auditor at Tissue Regenix / Intertek and as a Quality Systems Consultant at TLB (Consulting) Limited, McCarthy has contributed to the introduction of quality systems in small companies and conducted audits of USA FDA CFR 820 / QSIT. Previously, McCarthy held the position of Global Regulatory Compliance Manager at Smith & Nephew, where significant experience in auditing, sterilization processes, and consumer products was gained. McCarthy’s educational background includes a degree from Newcastle University, completed between 1966 and 1969.
