Dr Sandip Bhattacharyya

Dr. Sandip Bhattacharyya is a seasoned professional in the metallurgical and materials engineering field, currently serving as Senior Vice President Operations at Titagarh Rail Systems since August 2023, following previous roles as Vice President Operations and Vice President Quality and Technology within the same company. Dr. Bhattacharyya co-founded Advance Technical & Business Strategy Associates in August 2021 and briefly held the position of Group Vice President at Shakambhari Group from December 2021 to March 2022, in addition to a similar role at Rashmi Group from June 2019 to November 2021 where responsibilities included quality assurance and cost-reduction strategies. Prior experience includes a 21-year tenure at Tata Steel as Chief of Scientific Services, focusing on R&D and quality management, as well as an early role as a metallurgist at CENTURY EXTRUSIONS LIMITED. Dr. Bhattacharyya holds a PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and has pursued post-doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Metal Forsung in Germany.
