Klaus Obel

Director of Project Management at Titan Renewables

Klaus Obel has over 20 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on wind and solar projects. Klaus has held various project management roles throughout their career.

From 1996 to 1997, Klaus worked as the General Manager for Whitewater Maintenance Corporation, where they supervised a team and handled service and maintenance for a 30MW wind turbine project in Palm Springs, California.

Klaus then joined Vestas-American Wind Technology, Inc. as a Project Manager from 1997 to 2000. In this role, they managed the installation of new wind turbine projects, ranging from equipment delivery to complete turnkey installations.

From 2001 to 2002, Klaus served as a Project Manager for Enron Wind Corporation. Their primary task was the Indian Mesa project, involving the installation of 107 1.5MW wind units in West Texas.

In 2002, Klaus became the North American Service Manager for Nordex USA, Inc. Klaus managed projects across the continent but due to financial difficulties, the plans to introduce the 2.5MW unit in the US were not realized, and the company shut down their US office in late 2003.

In 2003, Klaus joined Florida Power & Light as a Sr. Plant Leader. Klaus implemented a recovery plan for 3 wind projects with a total of 230 turbines.

From 2007 to 2010, Klaus worked as a Project Manager for NaturEner. Klaus was responsible for the construction of Glacier Wind 1 & 2 projects in North Central Montana, which consisted of 140 Acciona 1.5MW turbines.

Klaus then joined First Wind as a Senior Project Manager from 2010 to 2013. Klaus managed the Kaheawa Wind Power II project in Maui, Hawaii, which involved 14 GE 1.5MW turbines and a battery storage facility.

From 2013 to 2014, Klaus served as a Senior Project Manager for Northern Luzon Renewable Energy Corporation. Klaus oversaw the Caparispisan project, an 81MW wind power project in Pagudpud, Ilocus Norte.

In 2015, Klaus worked as a Project Manager for Sun Edison (First Wind). Klaus was involved in the South Plains Wind Energy I & II projects in West Texas.

Most recently, they have been the Director of Project Management at Titan Renewables since 2016. Their responsibilities include overseeing the construction of new solar projects and carrying out warranty campaigns for solar developers and manufacturers. Klaus also supports daily operations with back-office technical and project management needs.
