Matthew Kilmartin has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Matthew began their career as a Bar Staff at Finnegan's Nuremberg in 2011, where they gained exposure to German culture and increased their knowledge of the German language. Their main responsibilities included consumer relations, stock control, bar work, and cash reconciliation. In 2013, Kilmartin joined TitanHQ (formerly SpamTitan Technologies) as a Global Account Manager. In this role, they managed global accounts and was responsible for maintaining client relationships. Additionally, Kilmartin worked at Kilmartin N6 Service Station, a family-run business, where they started as a store manager and was involved in various areas such as ordering, cash reconciliation, shift supervision, general management, social media marketing, and project management. Matthew still makes appearances at the service station when needed.
Matthew Kilmartin obtained their Leaving Certificate from Clongowes Wood College between 2002 and 2008. Matthew then pursued a Bachelor of International Commerce (German) degree in Marketing at the University of Galway from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they completed a Master's degree in Marketing at the University of Galway from 2013 to 2014.
