David Monahan is an advisor at Titaniam. David was previously with Bank of America Merrill Lynch from September 2019 to June 2021, where they served as SVP, Business Information Security Officer. In this role, they managed and consulted on risk within Bank of America's infrastructure, network and cloud projects participating as a control partner for security and resiliency. David also responded to audit requests, led security reviews for infrastructure systems, applications, cloud and networking projects, and advised project teams of risk appetite and ways to facilitate business delivery requirements while meeting security requirements.
During their time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, David increased customer satisfaction and reduced project throughput time by 50% by reengineering and documenting the security review process for infrastructure and network projects. In 2020, they received 5 separate recognition awards for outstanding performance and customer support from customer project teams by identifying ways to support accelerated project delivery and meet security requirements. David was also appointed as lead information security officer and voting member of the project security review committee.
As a new employee at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, David was assigned the largest portfolio in the team of 16 InfoSec officers. David quickly turned customer perception of the security group around 180 degrees by being a security solution’s focused business partner rather than strictly a “no guy” and impacting project delivery.
David Monahan has a type of FBI Investigations and SOP from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy. David also has a MS in Network and Information Security from Capitol Technology University. Lastly, they have a BS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
