Johannes Gelze

Johannes Gelze currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at TKMS since April 2023. Prior to this role, Gelze was the Senior Manager of Technology Strategy at thyssenkrupp from January 2022 to April 2023. Gelze’s experience at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH spanned from April 2015 to February 2022, where positions included Head of Sonar Center, Head of Underwater Component Design, and Technical Responsible for Submarine Systems. Gelze began an academic career as a Scientific Associate at Technische Universität Berlin in the field of Micromachining from April 2010 to March 2015, focusing on deep-sea robotics and inertial navigation. Gelze holds a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, earned between 2010 and 2015.
