Hugh Swire

Hugh Swire is a British businessman and politician. Hugh is currently a Non-Executive Director at Tlou Energy.

Hugh has a long history of working with companies in the renewable energy sector. In 2009, they invested in and became a director of MWF (formerly Midlands Wood Fuel), which was part of Forest Fuels. Hugh helped the company transition from being a local supplier of wood chip to one of the UK's largest renewable heat suppliers. During their time with the company, revenues grew 15x. In 2016, the company was purchased by Aggregated Micro Power Ltd, an AIM listed Plc.

Hugh also worked with Water Powered Technologies Ltd from 2011 to 2020. Hugh was an investor and director with the company, and was instrumental in all aspects of developing a range of zero energy water systems. Hugh successfully patented 5 new products that were sold in 22 countries. During their time with the company, revenues grew 10x, with a focus on Africa and China. The company won 3 UK Government innovation awards for sustainable and low carbon technologies.

Hugh Swire graduated from Oxford University with a Bachelor's Degree in Modern and Classical Chinese. Hugh also holds certification from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in Unit 01- FSA Financial Regulation.
