Chris Elwell-Sutton

Chris Elwell-Sutton is a legal professional with extensive experience in data protection and corporate law. Currently serving as a Partner at TLT LLP since July 2023, Chris also holds the position of Chapter Chair for Scotland at Connect Communities by OneTrust since April 2025. Previously, Chris acted as Executive Director, Senior Privacy Counsel, and DPO for CIBC Capital Markets from August 2020 to July 2023 and as VP Business Lawyer for Columbia Threadneedle Investments EMEA APAC from February 2019 to September 2020. Additional roles include Senior Manager at Deloitte, Senior Data Protection Advisor at AXA PPP healthcare, and Senior Legal Counsel & DPO at OSB Group. Chris's career began after a training contract at Laytons LLP, where services were rendered to corporate clients in various legal areas. Academic qualifications include a MA in Philosophy and English Literature from The University of Edinburgh, along with legal qualifications from The University of Law and BPP Law School.
