James O'Sullivan

James O'Sullivan has a diverse work experience spanning several years. James began their career in 1994 with the US Navy, where they served as Chief Damage Controlman. In this role, they delivered training lectures to naval and Coast Guard personnel, as well as high school NJROTC students, focusing on areas such as Damage Control, Firefighting, Gas Free, and Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense. Additionally, they reviewed and tested students' understanding and served as a Field Safety Supervisor with no reported mishaps during lab work.

Following their time in the Navy, O'Sullivan joined Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. in 2019 as a Quality Assurance Specialist. In this position, they conducted thorough reviews of work packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements. James also performed in-process work surveillances, safety surveillances, and internal audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and evaluate supplier performance.

Most recently, O'Sullivan worked with TMMG, Inc. starting in 2020 as a Damage Control Subject Matter Expert for the Engineering Readiness Assist Team (ERAT) at Mayport. In this role, they collected data through observation and meetings with watch standers and damage control personnel on CNSL ships. James worked with the ships' crew to improve shipboard material condition by observing, inspecting, and providing recommended remediation to the Ship's Commanding Officer. James also provided automated work requests (AWR) based on their assessments.

James O'Sullivan completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety from Oakland University between 2022 and 2024. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Florida State College at Jacksonville between 2010 and 2015. In addition to their formal education, James has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the OSHA-10 hour Maritime Shipyard Employment certification from the US Department of Labor OSHA, which they received in August 2019. James also holds certifications as an Afloat Training Specialist and a Master Training Specialist from the US Navy, which were obtained in January 2015 and October 2008 respectively.
