Chuck Ward serves as a Senior Technical Fellow at ARCTOS since April 2023 and has been the Editor for the Integrating Materials and Manufacturing Innovation Journal with The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society since January 2012. Previously, Chuck held various leadership positions at the Air Force Research Laboratory from July 2001 to June 2022, including Chief of the Manufacturing and Industrial Technologies Division and Acting Director of the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Additional roles included Adjunct Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Dayton from January 2012 to June 2013 and leadership positions within the US Air Force from June 1999 to June 2001. Chuck Ward holds a PhD and a BS in Materials Science & Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science, respectively, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) is a professional organization encompassing the entire range of materials science and engineering, from minerals processing and primary metals production to basic research and the advanced applications of materials. Included among its more than 11,000 professional and student members are metallurgical and materials engineers, scientists, researchers, educators and administrators from more than 70 countries on six continents.
