Rizwan Awan

Rizwan Awan, CFA is currently the President of Equities Trading and Head of TMX Markets, Products & Services at TMX Group, where they manage Canada's largest Equity Trading markets and oversees TMX's global equities expansion and digital strategies. Prior to this role, they held various positions at BMO Capital Markets, including Managing Director and Head of Program & Electronic Trading, where they transformed the electronic trading business and pioneered capital deployment. Rizwan also served as Managing Director and Head of Program Trading, where they grew program trading revenues and realigned and coached the team for maximum potential. Before joining BMO, they worked at ITG as a Trading Strategist, and at BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Systems Architect. Throughout their career, Rizwan Awan has demonstrated a strong track record of driving revenue growth, building successful trading platforms, and advocating for fair and efficient markets.

Rizwan Awan, CFA, earned their Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2004. Rizwan later obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in 2007. In addition to their formal education, they also hold various certifications including CSC, CPH, TTC, PDO, OLC, FLC from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). Furthermore, they have completed a Machine Learning course from Coursera and obtained certifications in Series 7, 55, and 63 from FINRA.
