Being founder owned and led, means we aren’t just looking for skills, we want you to enhance our culture too! We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Commercial Finance Analyst with minimum 4 years of experience to join our growing Commercial finance team.

The candidate will support the TMX business by analysing financial data, budgeting, forecasting, and developing automated reporting and dashboards. This role requires excellent organisational skills, proficiency with Power BI, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and a solid understanding of finance principles. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within the team and across the business to optimise financial performance and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce weekly/monthly financial and operational reports with detailed analysis.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting, including revenue and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Develop and update automated reporting frameworks and dashboards to enhance efficiencies and insight to business performance.
  • Maintain routine divisional revenue and expense forecast per division (Property, Supply Chain and Project Services) and support with resource forecasts and divisional summaries.
  • Collaboration with operational teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
  • Act as a finance liaison, translating financial data into meaningful recommendations for non-finance stakeholders and for executive leadership
  • Partnering with leaders and employees across the business to guide in decision-making and commercial finance advisory
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Perform divisional margin assessments and ongoing analysis
  • Support new client pitches with pricing and margin analysis
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with special projects such as market analysis, multi-regional audits, mergers & acquisitions.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Proficiency in Power BI, with the ability to design and maintain dashboards and reports.

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or another relevant degree

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, MS Dynamics etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills & commercial acumen

  • Ability to work effectively independently, or as part of a team
