Arjen Amelink

Arjen Amelink is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in optical spectroscopy and its biomedical applications. An Assistant Professor at Erasmus MC from March 2001 to December 2013, Amelink focused on developing optical spectroscopic techniques and non-invasive measurement methods for oncologic applications. Currently serving as a Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since October 2019, Amelink previously held positions as a Research Scientist at Philips, where the development of multi-layer discs for optical storage was a key focus. Additionally, from January 2014 to March 2022, Amelink worked at TNO as a Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Physics from the University of Groningen and a PhD in Physics from Utrecht University.
