Esther Markestein-Burgers

Esther Markestein-Burgers currently serves as the Chair of the Supervisory Board and a member of the Supervisory Board at Kindercentrum Watergraafsmeer Amsterdam since April 2023. In addition, Esther has held the position of Senior Legal Counsel for Employment Law at TNO since September 2021 and previously worked as an Employment Lawyer at Boontje Advocaten from March 2012 to September 2021. Esther's expertise in labour relations was further enhanced through a short-term role as a Specialist in Labour Relations & Employment Law at The HEINEKEN Company in 2019. Esther gained valuable experience early in the career as an HR Advisor at D&B The Mobility Group from September 2005 to December 2010 and completed an internship in Commercial Litigation at Baker & McKenzie in early 2011. Esther holds multiple degrees, including an LLM (cum laude) in Private Law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and an LLB in Law from the same institution, along with additional education credentials in law from East China University of Political Science and Law and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Esther is scheduled to complete a leadership course for board chairs in December 2024.
