Michel van Lier

Michel van Lier is a Computer Vision Researcher at TNO since February 2021, with prior experience as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Bird Control Group, where the focus was on developing real-time computer vision pipelines for bird detection. Previous roles include a Graduate Research Technical Intern at Intel Corporation, where research led to the development of OptComNet for wireless systems, and a Technical Intern at both Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, designing a Binary Neural Network inference accelerator, and Thales Nederland, working on a high-precision 3D positioning system for drones. Michel also gained experience as a Technical Intern at NLR, enhancing outdoor communication systems for drones. Educational qualifications include a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Embedded Systems from Eindhoven University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
