Xander van Tilburg

Xander van Tilburg is a Senior Researcher in energy and climate policy at TNO since April 2018, focusing on energy poverty in the Netherlands and advising the national energy poverty research programme. Between October 2021 and October 2022, Xander served as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Sumatera Utara, teaching a course on international energy and climate policy. Prior to TNO, Xander worked at ECN from April 2005 to April 2018, coordinating activities on energy and climate issues in developing countries and leading projects related to renewable energy policy for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. Xander began a career in financial risk management as a Consultant at Ortec Finance from August 1997 to March 2005. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Econometrics/Operations Research from Erasmus University Rotterdam, BA certificates equivalent in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, and summer courses at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
