Daniel Dahlkvist

Principal Software Engineer at Toca Boca

Daniel Dahlkvist started their work experience as a Journalist at GamingEye from January 2001 to December 2006. Daniel then worked as a Developer at Piktiv AB from March 2009 to November 2009. Following that, they worked as a Client Developer at Svenska Spel from October 2010 to November 2011 through Nyx Interactive. Daniel then joined Nyx Interactive as a Client Developer from March 2010 to September 2012, where they also served as a technical adviser for external projects.

In 2012, they joined Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE (EA Digital Illusions CE AB) as a Software Engineer and continued in that role until 2022. At DICE, they worked on software development for gaming, specifically focusing on network programming for game engines used by teams such as DICE and BioWare.

After their time at DICE, Daniel joined Frostbite in March 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer. Daniel was responsible for building the in-house network engine used by EA game teams to create multiplayer experiences. This role involved a wide range of network programming tasks, from low-level bit twiddling to high-level decision-making for game object management.

Most recently, in September 2022, Daniel joined Toca Boca as a Principal Software Engineer.

Daniel Dahlkvist attended the University of Skövde from 2006 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Programming with a focus on computer games. In 2010, they briefly attended Uppsala University, completing coursework in GUI Development but did not obtain a degree.
