Hwa Chen

Hwa Chen has a diverse work experience in the design industry. They started as a Freelance Graphic designer and Illustrator in 2011, working independently. In 2014, they worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer for Beam media. In 2016, Hwa Chen held the positions of Junior Designer at Circle magazine and Junior Graphic Designer at Way2creative simultaneously. In 2019, they interned as a Graphic Design Intern at Stockholm Design Lab. Currently, they work at Toca Boca as a Creative Designer, and recently transitioned to the role of Creative Lead in March 2022.

Hwa Chen obtained a Master of Fine Arts - MFA degree in Child Culture Design from HDK - Academy of Design and Crafts, starting in 2017 and completing in 2019. Previously, from 2011 to 2016, they earned a BA in Communication Design from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. In 2016, Hwa Chen also attended Design Academy Eindhoven for an exchange program, where they focused on Man and Communication. Additionally, in 2015, they participated in a humanity exchange program at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
