Max Griffiths

Max Griffiths has extensive work experience in risk management and analytics. Max currently holds the position of Deputy Chief Risk Officer at Together - loans, mortgages & finance, where they have been working since April 2023. Prior to this, Max served as the Group Head of Quantitative Risk from April 2021 to July 2023, and as the Group Head of Credit Risk from October 2018 to April 2021. Max also worked as the Head of Credit Risk and Analytics from April 2017 to October 2018 at the same company.

Before joining Together, Max worked at Centrica from 2010 to 2017, where they held various roles. Max was the Director of Credit & Collections (Interim) from June 2016 to April 2017, and the Head of Credit Risk from January 2013 to June 2016. Prior to these positions, Max also worked as the Head of Credit Risk from 2010 to 2013.

Max's earlier work experience includes roles at British Gas, Merrill Lynch, Alliance & Leicester, HSBC, West Midlands Fire Service, and the University of Birmingham. Max served as the Credit Scoring Manager at British Gas from April 2009 to April 2010, and as the Divisional Director of Risk at Merrill Lynch from September 2007 to April 2009. Before that, Max worked as a Senior Risk Manager at Alliance & Leicester from March 2000 to September 2007, and as a Senior Analyst at HSBC from June 1997 to March 2000. Max also served as a Statistician at the West Midlands Fire Service from September 1995 to June 1997, and as a Researcher at the University of Birmingham from November 1993 to September 1995.

Max Griffiths received a BSc degree in Mathematics from The University of Manchester from 1988 to 1992. Max then pursued an MSc degree in Operational Research at the University of Birmingham from 1992 to 1993. Max continued their education at the University of Birmingham and completed a part-time PhD in Operational Research from 1992 to 1999.
