Andrew Dearborn

Andrew Dearborn has a well-rounded work experience spanning over three decades. Andrew started their career in 1994 as an Internet Connectivity Consultant, providing technical support and making hardware recommendations. In 1994, they also founded Quest Web Design, offering website design, graphic design, and marketing consultation services.

In 1995, Andrew joined Altera as a Senior Layout Designer, where they led blocks on flagship projects and technology nodes. Andrew also played a crucial role in introducing the netlist and design database visualization and debugging platform called "StarVision." Additionally, they developed an API for pruning hierarchical netlists and created a chip assembly methodology and tools called "Modular Design."

In 2015, Andrew transitioned to Intel Corporation as a CAD Engineer, where they became the Technical Lead on flow and command line tools. Andrew focused on merging layout standard cells into PnR and Custom blocks and netlisting the same. Andrew also developed a platform for aggregating and analyzing top-level routing parasitics.

From 2018 to 2022, Andrew worked at Mythic as a Senior Staff CAD Engineer. Andrew'sresponsibilities included various DevOps and IT tasks, such as root access across all networks, onboarding users, and installing packages. Andrew also served as a CAD Technical Lead, leading efforts to break up monolithic code bases and integrate workload management into hardware flows.

Andrew's most recent position, starting in 2022, is at Tokyo Electron US as a Principal ASIC Engineer. Andrew'srole involves leading the development of an on-site HPC network to support the hardware engineering efforts of the business division. Andrew will also optimize the current workload balancing system and associated flows.

Andrew Dearborn attended UCLA from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in History / Business. Andrew then attended San Francisco State University from 1994 to 1995, studying Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Acalanes High School from 1981 to 1985.
