Marius de Beer is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the mechanical engineering field. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Tomago Aluminium since May 2019, Marius oversees the management of mechanical and infrastructure assets and indirectly leads a team of Reliability Engineers and Mechanical Technical Advisors. Prior to this role, Marius spent over two decades at Lonmin plc, culminating in the position of Head of Engineering, where leadership was provided to a multi-discipline engineering team and a reliability engineering group, resulting in improved asset health and operational efficiency. Marius has held various roles including Senior Manager Engineering, Project Manager, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and effective engineering practices. Marius holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria and an MBA in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.
