Svetla Borovska

Svetla Borovska is an accomplished GIS professional with extensive experience in both educational and practical applications of geospatial technologies. As an Adjunct Instructor at Tompkins Cortland Community College since January 2024, Svetla is dedicated to shaping future geospatial thinkers. Throughout a long tenure at Tompkins County, starting in 1999, Svetla has held a series of progressive roles including GIS Project Leader, GIS Analyst/Web Developer, GIS Tech/Web Developer, and GIS Technician. Previous experience includes serving as a GIS Analyst with URISA's GISCorps from March 2013 to March 2014 and working as a Remote Sensing Engineer at the Scientific Research in Geodesy and Photogrammetry from 1996 to 1998. Svetla holds a Master’s Degree in Geodesy and Remote Sensing from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, obtained between 1990 and 1996.
