John E. Alexander

John E. Alexander has served as a Director of the Company since 1995 and as a Director of Tompkins Trust Company since 1993. Mr. Alexander was the founder and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The CBORD Group, Inc. (“CBORD”), a computer software company, from 1975 until 2004. Mr. Alexander served as Chairman of the Board of CBORD through February 2008, when he sold all of his interest in CBORD to Roper Industries, a public company. Prior to CBORD, Mr. Alexander was a Vice President (Eurodollar trader) in the Money Market / Liability Management division of Bankers Trust Company. He currently serves as a director emeritus of the United Way of Tompkins County and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, as well as serving as a Trustee Emeritus and Presidential Councillor at Cornell University. He is a founding member of the Cayuga Venture Fund, as well as the Red Bear Angels who invest in Cornell startups. He supports entrepreneurship in startup companies through direct investments, as well as via membership in Angel/VC firms including 645 Ventures, CoVenture LLC, and Chloe Capital. We believe Mr. Alexander’s qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his executive leadership and management experience, as well as the financial expertise he has brought to bear during nearly two decades of board service with our organization. Mr. Alexander has a long track record of community involvement in the Ithaca area, including serving on the board of the Hangar Theatre, The Children’s Reading Connection, and several for-profit companies including Incodema3D, Sound Reading Solutions, and JEPAP, LLC, a diversified investment firm.
