Saibal Banerjee, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the field of machine learning and computer vision. Saibal is currently working as the CTO and Co-Founder at tomtA, where they focus on developing ML solutions and securely sharing anonymized real data. Previously, they served as the CTO and Co-Founder at Pridatex, where they developed data privacy software.

Prior to their roles in startup companies, Saibal worked at KLA-Tencor as a Principal Research Scientist, where they investigated and developed machine learning and computer vision technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. Saibal also served as the CEO and Co-Founder of BCK Networks, where they developed and sold patented optimal multipath routing algorithm technologies. Additionally, they worked as the Senior Director of Analysis at BT Imaging Pty Ltd, where they enhanced solar inspection equipment with algorithms and directed a research group.

Earlier in their career, Saibal held positions at Illumina/Solexa, where they developed cutting-edge machine vision algorithms and bioinformatics applications. Saibal also worked at IBM as a Visiting Research Scientist, focusing on machine learning and computer vision tasks.

Throughout their career, Saibal has made significant contributions to the field, with several patented inventions and publications in prestigious journals.

Saibal Banerjee, Ph.D. began their education at St. Xavier's Collegiate School in India from 1965 to 1975, where they completed their Higher Secondary education. Saibal then attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1977 to 1982, earning a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering. Saibal continued their studies at Washington State University from 1982 to 1984, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Saibal then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University from 1984 to 1987. Finally, Saibal completed their education at the University of Maryland from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science.
