Joel Benfold has over two decades of experience in finance and accounting roles. Currently, Joel is serving as the Finance Director at TOMY International since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Finance Manager at TOMY International from May 2018 to August 2021.
Joel has also worked as a Finance Consultant at Funtastic Limited from October 2017 to May 2018. Joel served as the Head of Finance (temp to perm) at V-ZUG AG from February 2015 to January 2017, leading the Operations Team.
Before joining V-ZUG AG, Joel held the position of Divisional Financial Controller (temp to perm) at Melbourne Racing Club from August 2013 to December 2014.
Joel's earlier experience includes working as a Financial Controller at Pharmore Consulting Group from November 2009 to April 2013, where they led a team and provided financial and commercial support to retail stores. Joel also worked as a Team Leader - Financial Accounting at Miele in 2009, where they focused on strengthening financial and statutory reporting.
Joel has experience in contract roles as well, having worked as a Finance Manager (maternity cover contract) at Toll Holdings Limited from January 2008 to April 2009, and as Group Accounting Manager/Financial Controller (contract) at CMA CGM from May 2006 to August 2007.
Earlier in their career, Joel worked at Fosters Group as a Financial Accountant and Corporate Accountant from September 2004 to April 2006, and at SKILLED Group as a National Assistant Accountant and Victorian Assistant State Accountant from November 2002 to August 2004.
Joel Benfold began their education journey at Lehigh University College of Business in 1999 as a foreign exchange student. Joel focused on accounting during their time there. In 2003, they enrolled at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand to pursue the CA Program, which they completed in 2005. Joel then proceeded to Monash University from 1998 to 2001, obtaining a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in accounting. In 2011, they returned to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand to complete the Certificate of Public Practice in executive management.
