Francesco Castellano

Francesco Castellano has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Francesco is the Founder and President of Tondo, a group of organizations focused on promoting the Circular Economy and supporting the launch of new projects in this field. Francesco also founded Tondo lab, which drives the implementation of clean and circular innovations and supports companies in adopting circular economy practices. Francesco is the Ideator and Chief Coordinator of the Re-think Circular Economy Forum, an event designed to stimulate critical thinking and showcase innovative paths in the circular economy. Francesco is a Mentor in the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Booster program at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and an Advisor at the Green Transition Hub at LIUC - Università Cattaneo. Francesco previously worked in management consulting at Bain & Company, where they focused on strategy and innovation projects. Francesco also has experience in innovation matching at Match-Maker Ventures and as the Managing Partner at Novu Ventures, where they supported start-ups and corporates in strategic and innovative projects. Prior to that, Francesco served as the Managing Director at Mario App and held a role in supply growth and operations management at Uber.

Francesco Castellano has a diverse educational background spanning various fields and institutions. Francesco attended MIT Professional Education in 2022-2023, where they completed executive education in Circular Economy and Sustainability. In the same year, they also participated in the summer school program at Università degli Studi di Padova, focusing on Circular Economy.

In 2019, Francesco enrolled in the Executive Education program at Harvard Business School Online, specializing in Disruptive Strategies and Innovation. Francesco further pursued coursework toward a PhD in Business Management at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2006 to 2007.

Francesco's earlier education includes earning a Master's degree in Corporate Finance from 24ORE Business School in 2004-2005 and a Post Degree Diploma in Finance from IPE Business School in 2004. Francesco obtained a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, spanning from 1998 to 2004. Additionally, in 2002-2003, they attended Universidade de Vigo to study Business Management.

Furthermore, Francesco has obtained certifications in various subjects. In 2016, they completed the Bootstrapping certification from Lynda.com. In 2020, they acquired the Climate Action: Solutions for a Changing Planet certification from edX, offered by SDG Academy, and the Design Thinking for Innovation certification from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
