Gareth Walsh is an experienced energy professional currently serving as the Energy Lead at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change since January 2019. Prior to this role, Gareth worked with the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative as the Energy Practice Lead and Power Africa Resident Advisor for East Africa and as an Energy Advisor to the Government of Sierra Leone from June 2014 to January 2019. Earlier positions included Senior Energy Advisor to the Government of Rwanda, where Gareth coordinated a four-year Strategic Capacity Building Initiative, and Senior Manager at Ofgem. Gareth also has managerial experience from Accenture. In addition to professional endeavors, Gareth co-founded Byiza Lodge in January 2017, where there is a part-time role as a waiter.
