Peter Dunckel has over five years of professional work experience. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at GeoMar LLC as a Software Engineering Intern. During this time, they performed testing of new Windows software versions, wrote detailed bug reports, smoke tested daily builds, and verified that daily builds bug fixes matched release notes. Peter also used bug tracking system Assembla to enter and track bug reports and learned basics of tracking software versions using GitHub. In 2016, they worked as an Android Developer at the National Emerging Threats Initiative, a sub-group of the Department of Enforcement Administration, where they routinely met with National Emerging Threats Initiative Clients to elicit requirements and design the application using Agile Methodologies. Peter also worked as a Teaching Assistant/Tutor at California Baptist University, where they worked with professor to ensure student understandings in the areas of engineering economics and software construction. In 2016, they also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at ViaSat Inc., where they developed an API for interacting with ViaSat’s Databus in the Go programming language and established connection between ViaSat’s Databus and an AWS ElasticSearch instance by developing Go program that utilized an ElasticSearch API and Go Library for the Databus. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been working at Topaz Systems, Inc. as a Lead Software Engineer and Software Engineer, where they are in the process of patenting software, and has successfully lead a local team and a remote team in India through multiple software project life cycles, and compiled and tested C, C++, C# signature verification libraries.
