Marcia Bates

Marcia Bates is an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in aerospace and software development. Currently, Marcia is with Topcon Positioning Systems, where Marcia has been since October 2024. Previously, Marcia held roles at FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. from January 2020 to August 2024 as both Project Manager and Scrum Master, overseeing software and hardware products adhering to AS9100 standards. Marcia's experience includes project management for embedded software at NovAtel from April 2015 to July 2019, where Marcia ensured adherence to ISO/TS 16949. Additionally, Marcia worked at NovAtel in various capacities beginning in August 1995, including Project Manager for GPS products under Aviation standards and Software Quality Assurance Engineer, focusing on aviation-certified software. Marcia holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary.
